Air Fryer Falafel π₯✨
Hey foodies! π Craving a crispy and flavorful Middle Eastern treat? Try these Air Fryer Falafel! They’re golden-brown, crunchy on the outside, and packed with delicious chickpea and herb flavors. Let’s get cooking! π΄✨
Ingredients:
- 1 cup dried chickpeas, soaked overnight π°
- 1 small onion, roughly chopped π§
- 3 cloves garlic π§
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped πΏ
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped π
- 1 tsp ground cumin πΏ
- 1 tsp ground coriander π°
- 1/2 tsp baking powder π
- Salt and pepper, to taste π§π
- Cooking spray (optional) πΆ
Instructions:
Prepare the Chickpeas:
- Drain and rinse the soaked chickpeas. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Make the Falafel Mixture:
- In a food processor, combine chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Pulse until the mixture is coarse and well combined.
Form the Falafel Balls:
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of the falafel mixture and shape it into a ball using your hands. Repeat with the remaining mixture, making approximately 12 falafel balls.
Air Fry:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes.
- Lightly coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the falafel balls in a single layer in the basket, leaving space between them.
Air Fry the Falafel:
- Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 15-18 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the falafel are crispy and golden brown.
Serve:
- Transfer the hot and crispy falafel to a serving plate. Serve with tahini sauce, hummus, or in pita sandwiches with fresh veggies and yogurt sauce.
